ORANG ASLI'S VISIT VERSUS ATV part 1


FEEL THE UNIQUENESS

Visiting aboriginal people is something that most of us rare do in life. But, do you know that this actually is one of the leisure activities that we can do?Aboriginal people are the indigenous minority peoples who dwell in the forest of Peninsular Malaysia. In Malay word, it is called ORANG ASLI

 There are 18 sub-ethnic group of aboriginal people in Malaysia and classified into three main groups according to their different customs and languages:
a) Senoi - live in the central region of the Peninsular Malaysia
b) Proto-Malay (or Aboriginal Malay) -live in the southern region of the Peninsular Malaysia
c) Semang (or Negrito) - live in the Northern part of the Peninsular Malaysia

As for that, we went to Kampung Pos Bersih, Slim River, Perak in order to experience this uniqueness leisure activity.

For your information,aboriginal people speak in two major languages which are Aslian languages (Austro-Asiatic) and Aboriginal Malay languages (Austronesian). Besides that, most Aboriginal people are fluent in the Malay language, the official language of Malaysia.

FUTURE GENERATION
Characteristics of Negrito people - dark skin colour, curly-haired, round-eyed, broad-nosed, full lip and short body size.
Characteristics of Senoi people - lighter-skinned, dark and wavy hair and body is high compared with Negrito people.
Characteristics of Proto-Malay people - their physical characteristics are more similar to the Malays.

Aboriginal people are famous with their handicraft like jewellery such as chains and bracelets, home decor, toys, and musical instruments of the traditional society. 

This can be one of the sources of income for the group. "We aim to make it another tourism product for the state in line with Visit Perak Year 2012", said by Datuk Suki Mee, Foundation Director of Yayasan Orang Asli Perak (YOAP).

iv) Orang Asli Village at Cameron Highland, Pahang - perkampungan-orang-asli-sungai-ruil
